When Should my Button quails start laying? (I already know the genders)

I have a pair of button quail chicks, they are 6 weeks old and still seem too small. I was wondering when should they start laying eggs? Will they set on their eggs? I give them scrambled egg, mixed with shells to give them some calcium and protein.

My male escaped his cage and flew into a wall, he broke his neck and sadly died. I'll need a replacement, so if you know anyone that is willing to give up a button roo, adult, that lives in or near Ithaca
