My hen has 16 eggs and I'm not sure how many eggs till she try's to hatch them off

What breed is she? Some breeds almost never go broody, while others are brooding fiends. It doesn't really matter how many eggs she lays, it's a hormonal thing, and broodies will go broody on nothing sometimes.

Do you mean they are large fowl? That would be a type of chicken, like bantams, but not a breed. If they are a breed I've never heard of them and can't tell you whether they will go broody, sorry
