Question for dog people: Why is my dog shaking her head?

Quote:
sounds like a deffinate ear infection....cocker spaniel by any chance? I clean my cockers ears once a week to avoid ear infections. Both of my pups I bought them with ear infections because the breeders didn't keep up with the pups as well as they obvoiusly should have. So after consulting my vet, it's ear cleaning once a week with some great ear cleaner that smells so clean after the dogs ears are cleaned.

Also, if you do take her to the vets and find outit is an ear infection let him/her know you already medicated her so that he doesnt OD her. Also, if it is an ear infection, if you don't mind buying plain yogurt just for your doggie, give her a table spoon in her food daily and as long as she eats it daily, you should notice an amazing improovement in her ear condition..but you stil have to keep up with ear cleaning on floppy earred breeds (and i guessed cocker because they are very prone to them).

ear itching, ear shaking, head tilting, even walking in circles is all a sign of ear infection ,,,not to mention a dirty stinky ear, red, or swollen.

Mind you, the ears dont have to be red and swollen to have a yeast infection.
