My pekin duck that I said earlier couodnt walk good and it had slanted legs, now he can't stand or walk I have to move him to the water and food dish he just lays all day and can't move. I feel so bad for him!! His legs are worse I guess since now he can't walk at all. If he tries to stand he falls and has to spread his wings to get his balance and not tip overs what can I do to help him?? The feed I give my ducks (I have 3) have that nichan stuff in it. The other 2 ducks are fine just this duck is like this :(

Oh no! I'm so sorry that both of you are going through this. It might be more than just niacin deficiency. Also some ducks need more than others. Are you able to take him to the vet?

I don't know of any duck gets near me. And probably not anyway cause my parents would probably figure it's a duck, not a horse, dog, or cat. I just don't want to have to end up killing him. Any home made solutions you know of? I thought maybe his legs were broken idk

honestly i dont see why people do this , it is a pet just the same and deserves to be treated as such.

its either genetic or some trauma to the legs from a fall or a trip. it could also have bumble foot, vet it the best choice for this duck
it could still be niacine but if the food has some in it and the legs are still this bad its unlikely

but get it swimming that might help its legs

I agree, a vet is the best choice, but sometimes that isn't an option for some. I would try to get extra niacin in him like some brewer's or nutritional yeast, and extra vitamins wouldn't hurt, like Poultry NutriDrench. How old is he again? Could it be spraddle leg? I've seen folks make leg braces for their ducks to help correct this, but that's only on a really young duck, I'm not sure if it would work on an older one.

Swimming is good exercise therapy too, Miss Lydia always recommends warm Epsom salt soaks.
