i have 4 BCM chicks that are all 6 weeks old. One is much larger and is the only one with a hint of color in its comb, the rest are still very pale pink. Here is my suspected roo.. I have never owned BCMs before so I am unsure of what to look for in male to female coloring changes as they mature..

Here is one with a pale comb for comparison

Black Copper Marans are a very hard breed to sex. It's hard to use combs, feathers, or any other ordinary details to determine the gender. I can't give an answer that I'm sure about, you'll just have to wait to see if they lay or not, that's usually the only way. To me, they both look like pullets, if it was a cockerel, the comb would be redder, I think. I'm just guessing, so don't take my answers as concrete fact. Good luck, I hope they turn out as you want!

I have heard BCM are hard to sex.. Dang!! Lol.. Ordered all pullets of 6different breeds hoping to get 1 accidental rooster.. Which tends to be what happens... And it's like waiting for Christmas to see what's what!

I get what you mean. But, I may be wrong. You'll just have to tolerate the waiting!

updated picture, officially 10weeks old. Still my only BCM with a colored comb? The rest are still very pale pink. And this one is the largest.
