First Time Owner of 8 Cuties

Ae they are cute! Not sure if I really want them to go broody or not...undecided.

I read somewhere that black/white EE chicks are usually boys. I have one but was told she was a girl. Here's a picture of her/him. She's 4 weeks old. Really hoping she's a girl. She's also the biggest of all the chicks....

It's according to what they were mixed with of course. :) That one up above is black and white. I have worried a bit too when I get a cute little black and white EE, because I usually want girls too! If it was crossed with a Wyondotte for example, it will be black and white. Just sold one that has a lot of black and white like a Wyondotte, and is an EE.
That is a real cute partridge coloring you have there. Look closely at the comb. It is a pea comb. When they have pea combs, more often than not, there will be three rows if a cockeral. Only one solid if a girl. Not always true, but usually. Very pretty baby, going to be gorgeos when grow. This is one reason why I love the EE. They always change so much while growing. You will see this. It's fun.

Thank you! That was very helpful. Here's a picture of my other girl, Tater. She's got the same markings but brown instead of black.
