Our very first Chicks!

Your chickens are gorgeous! I cant wait to see our chicks when they are all grown! :)
I made a thread for my ducks in the duck forum called "our rouen ducks" Im having trouble copying the link on my phone, I will try tomorrow from the computer!...

Cute chicks! My first ones are getting close to three weeks old, and I can't believe how much faster they are changing! It seems like in the last two days their fluff is flying all over the brooder and new feathers are coming out faster than I can keep track! Their food consumption went way up around 2 weeks old, and they are more energetic and vocal than ever now.
I have a two year old daughter, and she's obsessed, but terrified. :)

Hey your in a similar situation to me i also have a two year old daughter whos in love with the chickens and will sit in their free range area with them all dsy if i let her. She was scared of worms before i got the chickens and now she feeds them to the chickens herself!! She has grown in confidence and is learning the responibility of looking after them and its fantastic for them! Teaches good life skills! You will find your daughter will be great soon and the fear gone.

My chicks too are eating like pigs atm at 4 weeks old and they are changing daily!

Post some pictures of your chicks we would love to see them!!

My three Black Australorps. They are very shy, and also much harder to tell apart, so right now they don't have names.

This one is my sweetie, Diamond. She runs right over to me when I'm cleaning, and jumps up onto the edge of the box to visit with me. I hope she stays a hen!

The other two Barred Rock, in the back is Genie, who I am suspicious of being a roo (too soon to really tell), She's huge, thick legs, very bossy but sure makes the most noise when I pick her up!!
In the front is Betty, the littlest of the lot.

They are adorable!!! I love them!! How cute they are! They all look fabulous! Thank you fir sharing your pictures with me they really are lovely!

Isnt it cool when their featheres start to get some colour!

Im not exactly sure what my chicks will be like as i was led to believe they were black audtralorps but are clearly not! I think they are australorp crosses but what with? Your guess is as good as mine lol so excited to see how they colour up!

Please keep me updated of the development of your chicks its beautiful to see them thriving! They all look very happy chicks! X

Update:
