Chicken Breed Focus - Ameraucana

Pics
We ordered 16 "ameraucana" one day old Chicks September '14, they said we'd have a most likely ratio of 2 roosters to 14 hens. Far from the actual result. It ended up more like half and half! AND.. we have a couple of tan egg layers and the rest are more greenish. When some went "broody" I purposely put the bluest eggs under our gal, and the new "teen" chick's seem much better. We didn't know there was a difference or an Easter egger as a "generic" type so things are getting out of hand and I'd like to keep the true Ameraucana birds. So if I post can yall tell me which ones are by just the pic? Also, if someone wants hens or roosters that are one year old, how much do they sell for? What about 2 week old chicks? Here's a "runt" rooster, he gets picked on but is people friendly

The only hatchery that you can buy pure Ameraucana from is Meyer. All other hatcheries have Easter Eggers instead. None of your meet the breed standard. They must be an accepted standard color, have muffs and beards, have pea combs, and slate legs with white skin.
Here is a link the image gallery from the Ameraucana Breeder's Club website. It has examples of what each standard color looks like.

What about 'Cackle Hatchery'? Are there's not true Ameraucanas?

Hi all

so im up for the challenge lol
this is my 12 week old Ameraucana , yes ?
her name is Peggy Sue
she is the shiest of my 3 pullets although she is the largest and oldest.

She's not a standard color, and her legs are green. Green legs indicate yellow skin under a dark 'wash'. Ameraucana have white skin, and it's dominant.
This is a gallery from the Ameraucana Breeders' Club. It shows each of the recognized colors allowed for purebred Ameraucana.

The only sources for true Ameraucana are Meyer Hatchery or breeders that are breeding to the APA standard. All others are Easter Eggers.
