So, I've done some basic scratching around on the internet in search of a detailed chart of silkie chick growth from hatching day to six months of age. I could have missed something, but didn't find what I'm looking for, so I thought I would bring this up here and request a thread that might help others out too in the near future.
My idea is this: Take a side-by-side picture of a silkie chick and a soda can. Do this once a week from hatching day to 6 months of age. It would help give everyone a better prospective of growth size and age, don't you think? And this could also be used for other breeds as well. People do it for dogs, but I've yet to find anything as detailed for chickens. Is there anyone out there breeding silkies that would like to try this little project? Or, has this already been done, in which case could someone point me in the right direction?
Unfortunately, my chicks were bought already hatched, and I believe they are about 2 weeks older than I was originally told. However, I can't find anything close enough to help better estimate their age.
