I hatched out 5 of 13 chicks. on 3/30 to 4/2. the first one was fine till I brought her to a bigger brooder.. she was lethargic, not doing much. then she started falling over couldn't get up.. so I took her back home an put her in old brooder. she fell over at least 5 to 5 times a day. had to help her up. I went on line to find answers. but only on a duck forum.. put brewers yeast in non medicated food an niacin in water. with in two days less an less falling an more forward standing as she should. but still wobbly. I brought her outside to sun herself an put her in a pan of dirt. still no interest.. but did peck an move more forward then back. so hope full.
now its been a wk. improved but not like she should be. as the weather gets better Ill bring her out to sun an play in sand but definitely not well enough to b with the others that well are now twice her size..
what to do now. just wait for her to grow, see what happens.should I get other meds to help her till she's able to stand on her own?

Oh I saw you wrote more about her here. I really hope she's better and there is hope for my silkie. Please lmk when you can

I'll stay hopeful!

No, she passed. tried everything that was recommended. I ended up with two hens an two roosters. red hens an barb an red rooster. was quiet a hatch.
I just hatched other batch an 11 out of twelve.. very nice also see how many hens an roosters. I try to sex them out so I think 5 roosters an 6 hens could go either way.. so excited
thanks for the reply.. as they say don't count your chickens till they hatch..

Well shucks! I'm sorry for your loss. I'm on about 3 weeks with my Silkie and we have good days but then we have a bad day here and there. I'm still trying as long as I see her getting her food and water, it makes me feel like she has a strong will to live! There were days in the beginning when I was researching what to do with her that I thought I should just put her in the freezer and be done with her and then I wouldn't have to worry if she is suffering or not, but I just can't bring myself to ending her life yet. If anything she is going to be one tame chicken and be use to baths! ;) I have yet to name her though (not even sure it's a she) but I'll start thinking of one, I pray she survives though!

Ya, I didn't know the sex. but it's difficult. I have hatched out another batch. they all are well. one has crooked feet. but if its a hen she will be a great egg layer..
after that first experience. its best to let nature take its course, an enjoy what chicks you have. an do it again.. it does get easier. but to nurse maid to a chick, is to heart wrenching..
I looked for all I could find to help but there is nothing out there. let nature take it course..

Oh, I am so sorry. It's hard when you work so hard to pull them thru.
Warm Regards,
Karen

That looks like pasty butt to me. I would use a cloth with some water to wipe it off (gently). Look up pasty butt on the forums for more details from people far more experienced than me.
