That is one pretty frizzle- I hope I end up with one like himAlmost 8 hours and no posts? Wow! So its been at least a couple of days since I've posted any pics of my babies.. SC, I believe you called this little guy out on day 1. You asked if he woke me up crowing, and said something about him needing a cigar... well, I think you may have been correct!! What do you think now? And if "he" is a "he", I think he is going to be beautiful! And I have fallen in love with this gorgeous hen. She has finally become one of my friendliest girls. Her feathers are gorgeous and pics don't do her justice!

I'm in the majority and LOVE Mr Frizzle!! The black one is like my black one. Mine is my favorite out of the Easter hatch. If I even walk over to the gate she will fly up put of the run and onto my shoulder. If she is on the ground looking up at me I'll hold my arm out and she flies right up on it. She's such a sweet heart (when she's not trying to peck my eye out.)
Hey, we have the Adirondacks!
Thanks. How are your eggs coming along? That is one pretty frizzle- I hope I end up with one like him
My black one I call Raven. I started sticking my arm out because she would stand beside me looking up judging how to get to my shoulder and it hurts more when she goes from ground to shoulder than when she goes from ground to arm to shoulder...lolThanks. I had named "her" Prissy. Can I still call "him" Prissy?
ETA - I'd love to teach her how to fly up on my arm too!

I love blue crabs, but I don't catch them in the little nets that you see people using on the piers. We will set two or three big pots in the river, then come back and get them the next day.
My favorite thing about SC is shrimping. SC is the only state that will let you set bait for them, and it's only from mid September-early November. You set a line of ten poles in the water, drop bait patties around those poles, then go back and throw a net over the bait. It's a ton of fun. You can fill a 48 quart cooler, the limit, in 2 hours or less on a good night

I have seined, too, but baiting for them you can catch them so much faster. My goal every year is 50lbs in the freezerWe sain for shrimp here. It's cool to see what you drag out of the water. We have a 20 ft net and usually go to a private island and sain at low tide. It's so much fun.
