female ducks not interested in the drake.

I admit I'm paranoid about Bean rejecting Wobbles. As it is they haven't had the best relationship, he's bitten her a few times and she's such a spaz that she's always dashing around, which I suspect is activating some sort of chase instinct 'cuz they do okay when they're both just sitting there. As the only two ducks I have, if they don't get along I don't know what I'll do.

I always say, for any problem at all, add more animals!

Sitting watching flock politics is half the fun of having ducks! I despair of my lovely scovy ever accepting a drake, but she will lay down for a crow.

Ha ha ha! She sounds fussy. :) I've got a seperate little hut set up for my broody chicken and I've got the 10 latest freshest of my ducks eggs ready to go in there with her. I'm going to move her when it goes dark tonight. :)

Cant wait to see how this works out. My scovy was raised as a house duck so she's a bit odd. Its end of breeding season here but I put Wist and Stormy in a private room tonight. Its too crowded in the big shed for my favourite boy.

Let me know how it goes. And good luck. I put my broody (she's a crested Cream Legbar) in the new little hut at 9.30 last night with 12 duck eggs under her. She was sat there happily this morning when I opened the pop hole. Then about 3.00 pm she came out and was panicking strutting up and down the cage I've put attached to it so none of the others can disturb her. All the other hens came over and pecked around near her and she calmed down! She had something to eat and drink then had a dust bath then went back in and settled on her eggs again. I'm amazed!
