I have recently gotten 3 Barter brown and 2 Australorp 1 quarter Rhode Island Red 20 week old hens and was wondering when they will start laying, health problems, if they get along with other animals (I have 2 pekin girls, 2 sheep, 1 dog and 4 4 yr old RIR) etc. Thanks
 
One of my RIR's is sick and was wondering if there was a possibility she could infect my other girls or any other pets. Please help! I need help.
 
Symptoms and behavior would help immensely. Also pictures of droppings and the bird would help too. Without more information i fear that no one will be able to assist you.
 
But yes, there certainly is the possibility of a sick bird infecting the rest of the flock. Without knowing what is going on its hard to say for certain though.
