Page's keep jumping - Video ads on sidebar

Depending on the browser you are using, there are free adblocking downloads that can be employed. Another option is to become a paid member ("Golden Feather") of the site which allows you to opt for no ads for the duration of your membership.

Please see the information here: https://www.backyardchickens.com/a/troubleshooting-byc-problems-bugs-error-messages-other-issues

If none of those things help, please come back to this post and reply with all the information requested in that article above, especially:

1) Which browser and version are you using (eg., Firefox 3.5.9, Internet Explorer 7, etc.)
2) Have you deleted your internet cache / browser history of files and tried again?
3) Have you tried a different browser? This allows you to test if it is a browser specific problem vs. a computer / network problem. We suggest Google Chrome or Firefox.

Sorry it took me so long to get back to you. I have been trying to clean my computer up and get rid of all the Ad-wear (

) to make sure it not that causing the issue. Im using Google Chrome too. I'm assuming its the latest version...lol...I have cleared the cookies and history many times and its still happening...I did for a short time go on IE and didnt notice the issue but I was only on for a few minutes. I have notice like others that it seems to be linked to the video ads. When they start to play the sound will come on and you cant pause it or turn down the volume unless you do it on the computer itself. If you need any more information please let me know.

Thanks for the reports, we're looking into the issue.

We definitely want to remove and block any ads that are causing problems. We're working hard to block any ads that have snuck through our filters. If you still see them, please see our FAQ here:

Q: How Can I Turn Off Advertising / Advertisements On The Site? I saw some inappropriate ads, what should I do?
A: https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/...he-ads-on-the-right-of-the-page#post_10043121

Specifically:

If you see an inappropriate ad, here is what we need:

  1. A screenshot of the ad on the site (how to do a screenshot)
  2. The time & day(s) you saw the ad
  3. The "click URL" of the ad. One way to get this is to hover-over the ad and right-click and copy the link URL.
  4. PM to a Staff member or email to Support

(Note: for the ads that are inappropriate that slip through our filters, you probably won't want to click the ad. Hopefully you can still grab some info about the ad to make tracking it down easier)
