Hatching
Hi
I'm new to keeping chickens and love it! Today however, I noticed Linda had been in her nest most of the day, she has not laid an egg (usually late morning if any) her comb is kinda limp and she was soaked underneath. I can't see any eggshell but yellow I her feet, her eyes were tired looking and she wasn't bothered that I'd opened the nest box (usually shed stir) I noticed she'd been popping where she lay and it was white, watery and looked mucousy, I cleaned the coup with bird disinfectant and teplrnidjrd with a bit of sawdust and lots of straw. Whilst I was doing this she just stood by the water feeder and drank. Their diet is predominantly layers pellets, I've given them yoghurt & crush up their shells and add calcium to their water. They get the odd treat of corn, mealworms & sunflower seeds (shell on) although I've now read not to feed them these with the shell on!
Anyway I bathed Linda in a plain warm water bath which she liked and let her dry off. She's perked up a little but still not right, she didn't even want a grape which she usually goes mad for - any ideas?
