Hi
I'm new to keeping chickens and love it! Today however, I noticed Linda had been in her nest most of the day, she has not laid an egg (usually late morning if any) her comb is kinda limp and she was soaked underneath. I can't see any eggshell but yellow I her feet, her eyes were tired looking and she wasn't bothered that I'd opened the nest box (usually shed stir) I noticed she'd been popping where she lay and it was white, watery and looked mucousy, I cleaned the coup with bird disinfectant and teplrnidjrd with a bit of sawdust and lots of straw. Whilst I was doing this she just stood by the water feeder and drank. Their diet is predominantly layers pellets, I've given them yoghurt & crush up their shells and add calcium to their water. They get the odd treat of corn, mealworms & sunflower seeds (shell on) although I've now read not to feed them these with the shell on!
Anyway I bathed Linda in a plain warm water bath which she liked and let her dry off. She's perked up a little but still not right, she didn't even want a grape which she usually goes mad for - any ideas?

I can't say I've noticed whether she's been straining as I've been unable to stay out and play with them for a bit. She's looking very sorry for herself and very solem. I'm hoping the warm bath helped.
Is egg/bound treatable? Or is it an age thing?

You should be able to feel for a bound egg in her lower abdomen. In theory, it is treatable, but it's very hands on and requires lubricant. You will need to wash your hands, grease your finger and find the egg. You will have to slide around the egg, then curl your finger in a hook shape and work the egg to the vent opening. You will want another set of hands for this. However, the yellow on the feet makes me think she ate the egg, or found one she ate. Which only means her body is in need of some sort of nutrition. And the poop only seems to indicate dehydration. You should try to manually give her water if she won't take it herself.

I'm not sure Nchols
Yesterday she seemed very solitary and I didn't see her eat or drink anything.
I had a gentle feel of her abdomen yesterday too and couldn't feel anything bulky. But then again, I don't know how firm I should be pressing. I was being gentle and sort of 'massaging' her and she didn't mind it. I've not had eggs for 2 days out of this lot prior to today so something is up. Today I noticed a squashed soft egg in a nest box so maybe things are getting better? Linda was actually out having a scratch about in the soil today so I think that's a good sign. She's still not totally right but I think better than yesterday. She still has a floppy (floppies than usual) comb.
When I picked her up yesterday & moved her away from the others 2 other hens started trying to attack HER (not me) so I fended them off. After checking her abdomen and nothing I put her down gently and 2 other hens rushed over to her to fight? She's no bald patches tho? Is it possible that she's being bullied?

It is possible that she is being picked on. Chickens/birds have a tendency to pick on those birds that are sick and less dominant. Better is good. Hopefully tomorrow she will be even better.
