I was gone for 5-6 days and my Grandma was supposed to be collecting my eggs and checking my flock for me. She did collect some eggs, but somehow missed one of the boxes altogether. I got back and there are 12 eggs in that one box. The temperatures have been pretty warm lately, 80s most days. Are these eggs okay still? I gathered them up and put them in the fridge already, but separate, just in case I should purpose them for something else or toss them. Thanks for any insight!

They're probably ok but.....break them one at at time in a separate bowl before adding to whatever you're cooking.

Or if you're not sure or just don't want to eat them, break them together and scramble them up(cooked) for the hens, they will love them.

Thanks! I've given my hens scrambled or chopped up hard boiled eggs before, so I know they'll love that special treat!! :) I wasn't sure what I'd be looking for if I cracked them separately. Would they be obvious if they were bad? (I know that sounds silly, but I've not actually ever encountered a bad egg.) I don't currently have a rooster, but I do have a hen that loves to brood, so it's possibly she was sitting on them all that time and was the reason my Gma missed them.

Thanks!! Duh, smell. I feel so silly right now. And really appreciate you taking the time to help. :)
