I have a buff Orpington and golden sexlink(or so the sign said) as well as a barred rock. All roughly 7-8 weeks After reading through the forums I think it's pretty safe to say the BR is a pullet. And I was pretty certain that the sex link was a pullet as well, until today I noticed the comb and waddle are turning red. The BO I haven't been so sure about it has been slow to feather 2-3 weeks behind the other two and it is much smaller. I also noticed a pink/red tinge in the comb and waddle area. What do you all think?

Hello and Welcome to BYC!
The barred rock is a pullet but I can't decide on the other 2. In another week or 2 could you post a picture of them again to try and sex them?

I'm positive the Barred Rock is a pullet, and the Red Sex-Link is a pullet, having to go by plumage. Not sure on the Buff Orpington, but I'm thinking cockerel.

They look like pullets. What you are seeing is the skin around the comb 'blushing' but the comb itself is still very small and yellow. Their wattles are still very small, too. Pullets will blush in the wattles when excited or extremely active.

If your sex link is really a sex link (and I think it is) then it is a pullet. Male sex links are white with red on his wings. The BR looks dark like a pullet. The buff I'm not sure. I have 2 BO pullets who are 12 weeks old. They are just starting to get a little bigger combs with pinker color appearing. Maybe a better picture of the comb & wait a week or so.
