Need a little help, I have 9 hens. I recently built a nice nest box

with 4 separate boxes. About 30 inches off the ground, I also built roosts going up to the nests. I cannot get my hens to use the boxes, I have tried golf balls, moving the other eggs up in the nest and these girls still prefer to use the ground.
Any ideas? Thanks in advance for your reply.
 
I have a 12 hole nest box, and the 20 birds I've got laying now all prefer to use one of the lower boxes.

Anyway, if you can move your nests, maybe place them over the spot where they're current nest is. Or, stuff a cardboard box or milk crate with bedding and put it on top of the nest. If they use it, gradually move it towards your new nest boxes.

I still find eggs on the floor occasionally. I just collect them, scrub the new nest out with my boot and they'll go back to using the right nests.
