Pipd's Peeps!

I should probably get more EEs for my flock. My youngest are going to be 5 years old this year :th Too bad you aren't closer!

In other news, two of my boys who have lived together peacefully all this time apparently decided they needed to settle who was boss all of the sudden. They seem to be at peace with one another now, but they sure look like they had a heck of a brawl! Of course, it's the only two in this pen that I'm still deciding between for keeping as a backup, and now they're bald and beaten up. Big dummies :tongue

Naughty boys! Maybe they were fighting over who you thought was the best looking and so started pulling out the others feathers to make them look uglier so you would keep them instead, one thing lead to another, and now they realize how dumb of a plan that was.

Bad storm in our area. Limbs down, hail, power was down from about 6:30pm to 5:30am, a limb from my tree busted pipe between well and pump, but my cheap amazon run/coops held up to 60mph wind gusts with just counter weight cinder blocks keeping them in place.

Only worry now is if they eggs that where on day 6 made it through the power outage. Temp in the incubator when it came back on was 78f and humidity was 80.

Hope everything turns out well, stay safe out there!

Wow! I hope the eggs are OK and the cleanup and repairs go smoothly ❤

Wow, sorry to hear about the damage, but the cheapo runs and coops holding up is a good surprise! Hopefully the eggs pull through all right. If it was only out for hours (as opposed to a day or more), I wouldn't expect very many to outright quit as a result, they just might be a bit delayed to hatch. :fl

So out of ten tan/cream eggs I pulled nine. I was expecting that as they where from the English Orpingtons who are with a bantam rooster right now.

Out of eight bantam eggs pulled two. This group had the only blood ring. I was expecting more to be duds or quiters because I think these are the oldest eggs. We found them in the garage that I hadn't checked in a week or so. The only bantams that lay in that area are my Sebrites (gold). The RIR just cant fly out of the fence like they can.

Out of eight white eggs (Spitzhauben) pulled none.

Out of twenty Ameraucana and Ameraucana/Spitzhauben eggs pulled three.

All others are dark and veined with movement.

Sounds like they're doing pretty good despite the outage! :yesss:

I did confirm yesterday, day 7 candling, that I do have all but one of my eggs developing strong. :th I was expecting maybe 3 or 4 of them at most!!

I don't remember how many are the Judy booty eggs, I think 3 or 4? The one that is clear is a Judy egg as well, but at least I have a few others developing. :fl
