Is she on a layer feed? Soft egg with just a membrane or very thin shell means the hen isn't getting enough calcium. Make sure she is on a "layer" feed or that she has access to free choice crushed oyster shell. In a pinch, pop half a calcium pill in the very back of her throat.

Yeah shes on layer feed. it seems that shes in the middle of pecking order and my top hen is REALLY bossy so ill give her some yes

Well, maybe she just isn't getting enough to keep up with the egg laying, for whatever reason. I seem to have that problem with a couple of my free rangers. So, yes, see if the calcium pill does anything for her.

Oh okay. I have oyster shell so ill give them some of that. last time I did my bantam almost went egg bound cuz she had too much soo

I have one right now that has been laying soft shelled eggs for two weeks. She has free choice lay crumbles, oyster shell and I still have to give her calcium orally.

Is it hot where you are? Are these her first two eggs? She many work it out on her own if these are her first attempts. Sometimes the gal's ability to absorb calcium decreases in the heat. She also may be stressed, have an immature shell gland (or glitch in her uterus), or simple have a nutritional deficiency (calcium, phosphorus, vitamin D)

Crushed egg shells always work for me to solve rubbery eggs and I've never found it to encourage egg-eating. I would suggest separating her in a dog kennel with lots of food, water and egg shells for the day

Does she free range? This is fustrating to me. They have the layer feed, they have the oyster shell and obviously ignore both. That or something is wrong with the feed? Yet that's not likely if it's only one or two birds doing this. Or is something wrong with the birds that they require extra calcium? Or is the calcium pill more absorbable than the feed or oyster shell? Lots' of possibilities I guess.
