We ordered 100 Fry Pan Special Heritage birds from Cackle Hatchery. I'm hoping somehow they missed a few hens and they ended up in our box. Do any of these Barred Rocks look to be hens?

Um, it's hard to tell. THey look like roosters to me, but you never know. What breed are the white ones with yellow legs? Just curious.

Actually on second look, the last picture, the BR in the very back looks like a female shape-wise.

Thanks! The white ones, we believe, are Delaware. EDIT: might be a red sex-link (Delaware x RIR).

On the third picture by back to you mean furthest from the camera? The one closest (bottom left of the 3rd picture) has a different comb but is light in color. I was under the impression the light ones are roosters and dark are hens.

Still learning to ID these birds.

The hens are darker than the Roosters in barred rocks, they will get combs and wattles but they don't turn red as far as I have seen from mine Roosters comb and wattles are both bright red while the hens are yellow at this point, but mine are about 2-3 months old too this is our 3 month old rooster

sorry don't have any recent pics of the hens but they look a lot darker than he does

That's what I'd heard on the color. According to that, we were sent mostly BR hens but I'd have a hard time believing they messed up on this many if that's the case.

Clues that point me towards 'hen' are dark and the dark tinged patches on the feet. But they have bright red combs and big ones at that.

The darker birds *could* also be male black sex links.

How old are these birds? They all have a lot of comb to be females, unless they are 18+ weeks old. My guess is that they are male Black Sex-Links, since female Barred Rocks would normally be this dark color.
