I have no idea where to post this question so I'm just going to throw this out there.

Of the 22 chicks we received five weeks ago, only one has not made significant advances in feathering, my Salmon Faverolle "shrimp". Most of my standard size chickens are pretty feathered out but not her. She doesn't even seem to have a tail. How long does it take Salmon Faverolles to feather out?

No, no red color to the comb and what chest feathers she has are definitely not black. Why would she not have tail feathers?

When we got ours they were in with another breed.
None of the fave roles had tail or much in feathering round the faces because being such a placid breed the others had pulled them out. After a few weeks by themselves they started to grow back.

Perhaps yours is also getting a flock mate trim.

I thought that might be it but Shrimp isn't that placid. She pretty much handles everyone else around her. I'll have to take a picture of her and post it so you all can see it. She's a hard one to photograph because she's constantly on the move.

What other breeds do you have in with her? I suspect you may have some feather pluckers.

I kind of doubt it because I haven't found any feathers but she hangs out with my blue Cochin, blue quail D'Anver, Welsummer, Cream Legbar and bantam EE.

Shrimp rules the girls.
