Sorry for the repeat; I posted in response to my intro over there, but it probably belongs here ! I don't have enough posts to put the pics in this thread, so I put them in my profile. We got 5 chicks from Meyers on April 15th, supposed to be brown egg layers. All of them have done well and are healthy. YAY! Millie is clearly a Buff Brahma and Amy a RIR, I think. We also got three yellow chicks. Marcia has always been smaller, more curious and was the first to get her feathers. I'm pretty confident she is a she, I'm guessing a White Rock? Heidi and Clementine are another matter. Clementine (Clem?) was so named because her feet and legs were very orange when she was a chick. Now they are yellow. She is large and was the last to get feathers, has a very large pink comb and waddles. Her tail is still stubby. Heidi (Heinrich?) has always been a dumpling. She got feathers pretty much in sync with Marcia, but got pink comb and waddles right alongside Clem. I don't know about her. Clem and Heidi seem way more similar than Marcia. Don't know if the three white ones are different breeds or the same breeds and a mix of roos and pullets or what! They are funny, though, and I love all of their different personalities.
Although we can't have roosters in Baltimore and we'd miss Clem and Heidi, we do have a friend outside of the city that would like to have them, so I'm not particularly worried, just curious.
Best,
Holly
