I'm going to start fermented feed. Currently I am mid-way through a bag of starter crumbles.
Anyway, I have the typical feeder. Round with a bunch of holes around the base. It doesn't seem like glop will work really well in there (although I have yet to try it, just started the fermenting process this evening).
Does anyone have suggestions of a feeder style to use for fermented feed? We'll be able to build something this weekend.

I bought a section of vinyl rain gutter and screwed some wood blocks near the ends for legs. Works great because it's too flimsy/thin for the birds to perch on the edges and can easily be hosed out.

If you have a habitat for humanity resale shop near by you can pick it up for a buck or two. Otherwise a full section will probably run you $10-15 at the hardware store.

I second the v-trough suggestion. Thats currently what I'm using. They work great and there's no waste at all. I assume you're still feeding young chicks? When my chicks were still little they ate out of those long, red plastic chick feeders you find at any farm store. I took the hinged top off and added a wire covering so the chicks couldn't step in feed as they ate. They ate out of those red feeders until they were around 4 weeks then I switched them over to the v-troughs.
