How do you tell if your chickens have an impacted crop?

Is there a way to tell before a problem happens? Where is the crop located?

"Rich" is what I ain't. "Poor" is a state of mind and "Hopefull" isn't the only thing Im full of!

Hi, It's on the right side of the chest area and it will be a very apparent bulge, usually firm.

You will get more help with this question in the other areas of the forum then the Coop and Run Design section so you may want to repost to get more information quicker.

2 Red heads - Loreen & Michelle; just added the teenagers/ 2 black sex links - Etta & Effie/ and 2 Barred Rocks Ella and my surprise Rooster - Otis.  Rest in peace, Otis, death by unknown causes at 4 months old.    Hott Flash, my mare and the beloved Bubba, an obedient, non-barking, non-neurotic Jack Russell Terrier that guards my chickens from evil squirrels.
