Anyone read any good books lately?!

Divergent and the second book were both very good, IMO. However, on the last book the author pretty much lost it. I didn't have a problem with the ending as so many folks did, it was the totally implausible story line that led there. She completely contradicted her earlier works and it basically made no sense.

I also loved the Hunger Games books. When I was in the hospital for a prolonged period, the first movie was my go-to fall asleep movie. I'd stay awake until she screamed "I volunteer as tribute!", then I'd be out.....

Currently reading Side Jobs by Jim Butcher. Love me some Dresden Files. I was re-reading the Freedom books by Anne McCaffery but am still just not able to get through them, this is like the 3rd time I've tried. Really like her other works, though.

I love Divergent, Insurgent, and Four: A Divergent Short Story Collection. But I just HATED Allegiant, it took me quite awhile to get through it because it didn't grab my attention like the previous two books. I also really didn't like how it was told from both Tris and Tobias's points of view, and like most people I didn't like the ending either.

I just finished, "This Star Won't Go Out, The Life & Words Of Esther Grace Earl" by Esther Earl with Lori and Wayne Earl. It was a great but also very sad book.

Quote from inside front cover:
"Diagnosed with thyroid cancer at age twelve, Esther (Persian for "Star") Earl was an exceptionally talented—but very normal—teenager. She lived a hope-filled and generous, outwardly focused life as she navigated her physical decline with grace. A cheerful, positive, and encouraging friend, Esther died in 2010, shortly after turning sixteen, but not before inspiring thousands through her growing online presence.

This unique memoir collects Esther's journals, fiction, letters, and sketches. Photographs and essays by family and friends help to tell Esther's story, along with an introduction by award-winning author John Green who dedicated his #1 international bestseller The Fault In Our Stars to her."
