Hello my neighbors little yorkie Jojo just got hit in the head by a car!!this is so upsetting because the man who owns him is the sweetest, most generous neighbor we have ever had,and he loves the dog so much, you always see this pair together,Jojo follows him everywhere and even sits on the mower with him!and when I go get the mail Jojo always comes to say hello! It was heartbreaking to see this man cry! Does anyone have any advice on how to treat a dog that just got hit by a car? I don't want him to cry anymore.I want his buddy to be okay! I feel terrible simply waiting for word.

While I understand concern about expense of medical care, this is not a minor issue that is likely to resolve on it's own and is a situation where providing appropriate care is a duty.
The number of injuries a dog can suffer when HBC can vary greatly - as can the severity.....the fact that this was a small dog makes it more likely that there are serious injuries to be considered. Was the dog bumped by the car in a glancing sort of blow, rolled over by wheels, struck hard and sent flying? Each of those scenarios comes with more or less likelyhood of serious damage. Has the dog been assessed for obvious fractures? Is there bleeding from any part of the body?

Unfortunately I didn't see the accident take place, all I heard was he got hit in the head. I didn't see any fractures or obvious wounds,I think he was only injured on his head.

Take him to a vet.... and think about the money later. I don't know about vets in the US, but if a vet here can help and the owner has not enough money, you can pay in rates and if you def. have no money they often have a emergency funds b/c they can't turn a patient down only b/c the owner is poor. If those funds don't exsist go to crowdfunding plattform....
