What about those who are already registered but still lurk??

That would describe me for the most part.   I don't know enough to give any one else advice.  Still learning.

I assume that would be you...    You will find us quite a bit of fun and worth a ton of information.  I have learned more here in 2 months than I ever could have any where else!

I have to admit.  I have always loved chickies in an insane way. hehehe....but I never joined until my daughter insist we adopt the chicks from her class at school....I'm telling u beg.  I was like Syd what are we going to do with them when they get big.  I am the type of person who looks into the future.  My kitchen was already decorated in roosters and red and she told me that we could keep them inside in a box....  I know chickens!  I was raised with them.  So I tried to talk all my old lady neighbors into opening back up their coops...which have been closed for years because of their age and no one wanted them...I offered to buy feed and everything.  Finally I decided to just build a coop for the 2 we had....before I knew it we had tons of chickens that we adopted plus some of the breeds my daughter picked out.  So I actualy bought a mini barn.  I had to do it this time of year because she lost her fav. hen.  Mommy make it all better!  Know I think to myself that her hatching those chicks in her classroom cost me a lot of money but I tell you what....This is the best thing that we have done together...we are even planning a poultry show next month.   So join the obsesssion of chickens!! and get some if you don't have them they are the best thing in the universe.

Yep, I am a lurker..  I'm on this site everyday but hardly post..   It is one of my favorite sites around.

I had a small family vacation...I brought up byc.

I talk to friends...I mention byc.

I talk to my sisters...I laugh about byc.

I talk to my mom...who knows now all about byc.

I said something to my moms friends...who now know about byc.

I even mentioned byc last night at my dd's school meeting.

WHY? Why does EVERYONE laugh when I say, "I heard _____ on my backyard chicken forum." ??

and "According to the backyard chicken forum ____."??

and "There's this guy named Purple Chicken on the backyard chicken forum and he _____." ??

and "Then there's my lil homeschool girl, named PP, short for Perfectly_Polish, on the backyard chicken forum and she ______." ????

WHAT is so funny about any of that?

I can just say backyard chicken forum and they are laughing without hearing the rest.

I lurked for about 4 months I think. Honestly it was to gain enough knowledge to sound half way sane when I did answer a post.

Would one of us from each state be allowed to post an ad on Craigslist to join BYC?? I saw another forum advertising on there. You never know who might be lurking on Craigslist!
