Chick #1, #2 and #3 respectively.

#1 and #3 have pinkish orange feathered feet with a bit of grey and four toes (#1 has one toe that is split into two - so one foot has 5 toes and his wing feathers have a bit of a separate diamond shape at the end). They both have olive greenish eyes.

#2 has bare black feet and four toes and had a bit of a feathered mohawk going on recently. #2 is all black.

All will lay calmly in my hand upside down, although #1 kicked a bit more than the rest (had to wonder what I was doing to them!!!). However, I am definitely mom to them, so they are very comfortable being handled by me.

#2 is the most calm with handling by strangers, followed by 3 and 1.

Haven't named them yet, as I don't know the gender. My students are really curious to know before we get out for the summer in two weeks!!! #1 and #3 box a lot (bump chests and chase one another) and #2 is mostly interested in finding the best food - even if that means stealing it!! I'd LOVE some help with breed and gender identification!

Here'e the pics, in birth order

and my favorite pic of the first chick - wondering why I have him above his coop!

The second chick with the poof looks just like my crevacoure chick since polish dont come in solid black as for the others maybe marans or cochins?

Update: 1 and 3 were Roos. :(. So sad, I had to rehome them - luckily both went as pets. I bought 2 more older chicks who were now I'm debating. "hens" to keep Petunia( #2) company...and they turned out to be 2 more roosters that I had to rehome. #2 is a hen, probably a crevacoure mix with copper neck feathers now. - who just went broody after laying 9 eggs. Hmmm...broody bust or buy some eggs for her to hatch.
