I am new to this and BYC. It is too hot to lock the 11 week old birds in the coop all day to coop train them. Ideas?

Should I take the water and feed out and let them find their own way out? They are adorable. Two are super friendly and two are a bit more skiddish. One day and I'm already hooked!

yea, i don't keep food and water in my coop. they don't eat or drink at night anyhow. just be sure to be up and open the door for them at daybreak though.

Thank you! I think one of the chickies is sick. A normal poop with blood on top. I don't know which and none look sick. Is it harmful to treat the whole flock? Thank you! I just picked them up yesterday. I did put watermelon in the cage with them for the 2 hour drive, but it didn't seem like they ate any. . . I figure the red on top of normal might signal it isn't the food. =(

Here is a pic of the coop/run if anyone is interested. We will cover the whole run by winter.

The chicks still try to huddle in the corner of their run rather than in the coop at night. . . . suggestions??? We are putting them in every night and out every morning. . . .

That ramp is WAY tooo steep...put a concrete block or something about 16" high under the end on the ground to make it less steep.
Might want to add double the amount of cleats so the spacing is smaller.

That coop could use some windows for light and ventilation....how many birds are you keeping in there?
