Pekins going bow legged

So I hit TSC and Walmart today to stock up on first aid supplies :) I got some epsom salt, vet wrap, triple antibiotic WITHOUT 'caine. I got some gauze, some plain old aspirin, some 12ml syringes.

I have an old tool box I'll use for avian first aid so I'm better prepared in the future.

You did great but the aspirin can cause kidney damage to water fowl so leave that out. I love the vet wrap at TSC sometimes they have it on sale it's for horses and has to be cut down the middle but boy does it stick to itself good.

second day of the duckies out in the yard. I moved them to a more shaded area of the yard today.

The larger of the two isn't showing much improvement sadly. However, the slightly smaller one is showing VAST improvement. Standing tall, less pigeon toed, running around. I'll try and snag some photos to share when I get a free moment.

That's too bad, still hoping.

How are they doing?

As of right now, one of them has made an almost full recovery as far as I can tell. Standing tall, running around, still a tiny bit pigeon toed, but looking better.

The other sadly is not recovering. I'm continuing to treat as aggressively as I can but this poor little duckie just isn't responding. He/she still seems mostly happy, but I can tell it gets a little frustrated when it takes longer to get with the rest of the group. In addition to whatever caused these initial issues, I am 90% confident in a diagnosis of a slipped tendon as well.

I'm not ready to start hospice care on the one yet, but I think the window for any type of significant recovery is quickly closing if it hasn't already. I'm grateful for all the help from this thread, as I think that is a huge part of what helped the one recover.

I'll get some pictures once I get a free minute

That is great news about the one sad about the other. As long as it's happy and seem to still enjoy life I'd wait and see.
