Duck area upgrade!

Updates this weekend have included:

- poultry netting inside, attached to the fencing panels
- gate
- wall inside the shed/coop to split the enclosed area to the open area (eventually the pond area)
 
Did a little more today.

Added 15 bags of pea gravel inside the enclosed part of the duck building and put up some poultry netting on the half wall. They haven't spent the night in there yet because their bedding/nesting area is in the other coop near the house. They spent the majority of the day in the new area today and even tried out the new, temporary pool (until I dig the hole for their bigger pond - probably a spring project).













And somebody had a little scrape on her beak today.

Brilliant progress!

We actually began clearing out the area for the new day pen today. I just wanted to sketch it out, but when we went outside to look at the area while sketching, my beloved declared it was too cold to just stand there (snowflakes were falling), and he grabbed a rake and started prepping the area. He really got into the spirit, and pounded in a few marker posts. So we are on our way! This is the third year we have talked about this - I sure hope we move it from paper to the back yard this time!
