Where would I be able to find what the "standards" are on a breed... BLRWs to be exact? Say, if I wanted to show or breed, where can I find info?

If you mean Blue Laced Red Wyandotes, This variety has not been excepted by the APA yet.

In general, you can look up the Wyandotte breeds. the BLRW will have to conform to that, the only difference will be the coloring of the feathers.

Basic Wyandotte
http://groups.msn.com/CHICKENCHRONICLES/breeddictionary.msnw?action=ShowPhoto&PhotoID=259

1.  When you look at a profile you should see a heart - Full chest , short back.
2. Looking down on or from the rear - Wide tail should look almost  rounded.
3. Rose comb - must have spike - no spike is an immediate disqualification. (learned that the hard way lol).
4. yellow legs, no feathers.  (if you are looking at varieties, many of them were created with the help of cochins, if breeder hasn't culled well single combs and feathers on legs will show up.

Problems seen in many BLRW.
1. hens - backs to long and narrow.
2. roos - hard to find a real good comb- long backs , no chests, and not wide enough.

Similar body style breeds.
