In the Brooder
Are Japanese bantams a good broody breed? I have black, BTW, and buff Japanese bantams and I want to hatch eggs from a broody hen So I'm wondering if this breed frequently goes broody?

Here's my JB, Big Ang. She was so seriously broody that she stole eggs from the next box over . I didn't realize it at first as she rarely got up but when I checked on her one day I spotted RIR and Marans eggs poking out. Seventeen to be exact! Needless to say, I moved her and her original 5 eggs. FF 2 months and she's back at it . Did yours go broody yet?

Your bantam is so pretty.
I was wondering the same thing about if you have had yours go broody yet?
Thank you! Yours is gorgeous! Love her coloring . I'm very new to the breed and Ang is my only JB but, if the hubby allows, I will be getting more in the spring. They are such loving, loyal birds!
