I have had my chicks since the day after they were born. They are thriving and already cracking me up! Where can I find a guide when to introduce new "Chicken Approved" foods to them? And, are they bored already?!?
Thanks.

Many people do but it's best to wait until they are 4 weeks old to add treats and grit. If you decide to give them anything except commercial feed please remember to give them grit.

Welcome to BYC! Please make yourself at home and we are here to help.

At this time, it's best for them to just be eating chick feed and simple treats like oatmeal, eggs and mealworms. But around 4-8 weeks they can start having other treats like veggies, bread, fruit, etc. Here is a link on chicken treats https://www.backyardchickens.com/a/chicken-treat-chart-the-best-treats-for-backyard-chickens And amazingly, some chicks won't actually seem interested in treats until they are about 10 weeks old.

baby chicks are not bored. at this age all they do is eat sleep and grow and poop and repeat. when I first get mine I just give them start and grow as a feed and every day I do a butt check to make sure their butts are not impacted with poop.

Chicks/chickens are like kids who rather eat candy than make healthy choices. You do have the upper hand with chickens as they eat what you give them. Too many treats can prevent them from eating their nutritionally sound feed. Treats should not make up more than 10% of their food. Glad you joined the flock. The Learning Center has a lot of important information and makes a great read, especially for beginners.

Welcome to BYC. Glad you decided to join our flock. The other members have given you some good advice. Starter feed is specially formulated to meet all of your chicks' nutritional needs, and too many treats will make them fat and unhealthy. It's the equivalent of us eating candy bars and potato chips. There is a good article on feeding chickens at different ages at http://www.the-chicken-chick.com/2012/11/feeding-chickens-at-different-ages.html. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have. We are here to help in any way we can. Good luck with your chicks.

At 2 weeks old they are trying to have a dust bath in my temp coop! Do I need to purchase some stuff for them to do a dust bath in? Oh goodness! This just started this evening!

You don't need to purchase anything for a dust bath. I always keep a flat box with fine wood ash (any type of burned firewood or grilling wood will work) in it in my coop for my chickens to bathe in. They love it and it is even more effective in preventing lice and mite infestations than dust or dirt.
