This is my first post so I hope I am making it in the right place! I have had ducks for a few years now, but this is my first year raising chickens. I am so happy I decided to get chicks this year as I find them to be very fun and entertaining. I ordered 8 chicks from Agway (I didn't know a better source at the time), who listed them as sexed hens. Not knowing what breed I wanted only that I wanted them mainly for layers, I chose two Rhode Island Reds, two barred rocks, two silver laced wyandottes and walked out with an extra two New Hampshires who there was an over abundance of :-) From the research I have done I am starting to question whether my "girls" may have a few boys amongst them... here are a few that I am questioning

Chicken number one looks like a cockerel, the other three look like pullets. How old are they? A comb that big at that size screams roo, but may be older than they look.

I never noticed a reply to my post last year, sorry for the late response but thank you for your input. Better late than never, these all turned out to be hens oddly enough. The first one pictured is a silver laced wyandotte who has the wrong comb type. The other silver laced wyandotte (chicken #2) has some odd feathers on her tail that grow the wrong way and she has never laid an egg for me that I am aware of. Some great breeding lines those two came from...
