Good Morning everyone!
I've been on this site for years but just joined today. I've had chickens for years, and have always given the eggs away to neighbors. I'd like to start selling the extras, but have no idea how much to charge. I'm in New Jersey. Does anyone know how much fresh eggs sell for?

Thank you!

Welcome to BYC - glad you've decided to go ahead and join in the fun.
There is a wide range of factors that can impact egg pricing - besides location - are your hens fed a specific diet (ie GMO free), do you pasture your birds, are you following organic practices (you will want to research the state regulations regarding use of the actual world "organic" as the requirements and certifications vary greatly)?
One place to start is to look around on CL, at farmer's markets, etc. to see what comparable eggs are going for in your area - be sure, though, that you are comparing apples to apples as far as the factors listed above.

Thank you everyone! I don't want to certify my eggs as anything - just want to keep it simple

. I love my chickies & their eggs, just hoping to get a little $ to help pay for food or buy more chickies...

. I was thinking $2.50 to $2.75. I originally thought $3 but eggs at the store are less than that.

People who seek out farm fresh eggs are generally willing to pay a little more than store prices because they like the quality of the farm fresh eggs more - $3/doz is definitely in the fair price range.

Glad you joined us!

I would sell them for at least $3-4/doz. Last I checked the average egg price at our local walmart is around $5/doz! With the AI out breaks in the mid west egg prices are up, so I wouldn't sell them for too cheap. Good luck with your flock!
