Excess water in the eggs

I had to give up my small flock of chickens last fall because of a health issue. This spring during chick days at the local stores we had some other issues going on. I finally ended up getting some brown bovan (sex link) year old hens that came from a egg production operation. Some were in molt and because their new environment and different feeding system they weren't laying much. And the eggs we got seems to have excess water in them. I'm hoping that they didn't understand that layer pellets was their food and they were drinking a lot of water to fill the void in their stomach. They are eating better now, and they get to forage a couple hours each day. Any opinions?... Jim
