Rooster or hen?? Also is it a Dominique? TIA :-)

8 weeks old. The tail feathers makes me think Roo but I don't know. It's legs are also very big compared to my other 7 chickens.

It's a boy for sure. It's not a pure Dominique. A pure Dominique male would have wider bands of white and more narrow bands of black.

What else could it be mixed with do you think? What kind of comb does it have crazychicklady7? These are my first chickens so this is all new to me. Thanks

It looks like a puffy, red rose comb to me. No idea what he's mixed with. Did you get him from a hatchery? Was this an extra chick sent with an order? If so, he's probably a black sexlink cockerel.

I got him from a chicken swap with 3 others. It doesn't seem to like me at all. When do they start to crow??

They can crow as early as 2 or 3 weeks old, or they can wait until they are 6 to 8 months. Most start to crow with regularity around 3 to 5 months. There's no set rule as to when they crow or what they will crow about.
