We came home from vacation to find that Peachy is bigger than the other chicks and has longer feathers. Is she a HE??

Oh no! I don't know anything about roosters. Can he stay with my hens? Will the eggs taste different? Should I get rid of him? What to do?

You should have a ratio of one rooster to at least 10 hens. Eggs will not taste any different, just collect them daily. Hopefully he's a nice guy! If you are able to keep roosters, it is nice to have one around... again, if he's nice.

Is he a Partridge Rock? Will turn out quite handsome when his shoulder plumage comes in.

I've run 6 birds to one rooster with no problems, you'll know if there backs get worn from over mating. You won't notice a difference with the fertile eggs.

Same as fshinggrl.

I typically have a much smaller ratio for breeding, but if he is just gonna be around, 8-10 hens is a good number. Eggs will not taste any different and as long as you collect eggs every one or two days, you will be fine? You will only have to collect eggs daily when you have a broody hen.
Speaking of broody...dang I forgot to collect new eggs from my silkie this morn.... On well... I'll do it later...

Just watch to make sure that he isn't treading your hens Too much and that he doesn't favor a single hen. If he starts to show favor, it might be nice to think about some hen saddles.
