Ok so our tenant has a pen, next to our run and they let the dogs run there. So anyways I assumed our one month old chicks were old enough to go out and not escape but one chick did escape and as I was trying to coax him back a dog came flying into the pen the chick snuck in to. The dog picked up the chick, then dropped it. The chick almost got back but the dog picked him up and proceded to run around. I ran to the other pen, knowing the chick was done for. But then to my surprise the chick had esaped to a corner.
So there are no bites, but the chick can barely stand. Also, no broken bones that I could see. The chick is now resting, breathing very heavy. Im hoping he is just in shock.
Any advice?
