Hello everyone, Dannie from Texas! Just started my backyard chicken family. I have 4 that are 7wks old and 6 that are around 4 wks old. I have found this site most helpful in getting started!

Welcome to BYC and the wonderful world of chickens!

Feel free to ask any questions you have or just to chat about your chickens! We love talking about poultry (maybe a little too much sometimes

), so don't hesitate!

Best of luck with your new flock!

Thank y'all

we have a mixed flock, barred rock, black sex link, RIR, Leghorn, buff, 2 easter eggers, lakenvelder, production red, wellsummer and a salmon favorelle...we are a little uneasy this evening as all the gals got into the coop for bed but 4 of my little chickertons got under the coop and we spent an hour trying to get them out with no luck...very worried for them tonight

Don't worry. They should be okay. My broody hen would sleep outside of the coop at night and she did great.

Please post a report tomorrow, so we can know how they are doing.

Best of luck!

Thank you...my biggest worry is that they are only about 4/5wks old, so still little but they were more than ready to move to big coop..
