I am fairly new to chickens and i need help i think my precious violet is dying! She is about 13 weeks and just the sweetest little girl! I found her in back of coop on her side barely breathing! I looked her over didnt find any injuries! I put her in the kiddie pool thinking she got too hot today as we are in triple digits here! She kept putting her head under water im terrified to lose her!!! Any advice on what i can do?? Thanks!

I posted this about 7 hours ago in a different section hoping for more help here!

Can you feel any broken bones on her. The best way to cool her down is to grab some water bottles and freeze them and put them around her when she is nesting. You might have to go to the store and buy some antibiotics or performance chicken drugs to put into her that I'll help her immune system and get her functioning again if she's not eating or drinking.

I cant find anything wrong with her other then how she is acting.. i brought her inside and put her in a large box with food and water she is in same spot for 4 hours now she is a pile on the bedding nothing elegant she looks plain miserable! I can barely see her breathing everytime i go in im afraid she isnt going to wake up! Its 11 pm here so not much that i can do until tomorrow, unfortunatly im not to sure she will still be here when i wake up...

I only have a small flock of four! Have only owned chickens for alittle over 2 months now and already lost one if she passes this will make 2! Maybe im not a good chicken person i take losses to personally!

I had the same problem with two of my turkey chicks, one pulled out of it while the other did not. The best thing you can do for her right now is just see if she is hot or cold and make her as comgortable as she can be. And just wait and see until you can get her to a vet.

Its not that i am sure you are doing fine. I lost 7 good heathy chicks all in one day for no reason and after that i didnt want anymore because i blamed it on myself. It was a bad wire that shirted the heat lamp, that killed them. I do have more now a small flock or 8 turkeys (counting the new babies). Problems will come and its hard, sometimes what can happen is that they eat a bug that is bad. Thats what happened to my little Snow. She is fine now but she did scare us because she acted like that for some time.

My husband keeps saying she ate a spider or something we have black widows and brown recluses around our area do you think these spuder could poison her? Can she pull through from a bad bug?

She wont keep head up she will raise it when i pick her up and rub on her to get her "awake" but then she just stands there with it down almost laying it in the shavings but still standing then pile of feathers as she "sleeps" very slow breathing have to watch really close just to see it!
