This is my first time with turkeys, I have 9 bourbon reds and a pair of royal palms. I *think* I have 2 maybe 3 male BRs and the rest are females... Not the best of photos, but can anyone please help and tell me what they think?

Uhhhgggg. 2 of them are super obvious. The rest, don't have a snood barely... But they have the extra skin on their neck.

This is a male upclose.

And this is what the majority of them look like.

I am kind of new to this also, but have read up and done alot of research. Along with picking and pawing through this forum. With that said I have read comments even from ones that have said done for many years say " The whole time I swore it was a male till I looked out and had laid a egg !"
With that being said, It's a 50/50 guess.

My thing is, I don't want them all. I had to order the minimum of 15. I sold a pair of royal palms already, they're very obvious though when it comes to sexing. I'd like to get rid of all but a trio of the reds. Which is why I'd like to get it figured out.

looking forward to someone to let you know easy way to sex them at that age, make my life slightly easier. watching habits is not even a option. I think I have far too many to memorize each bird.

It appears that they may be old enough to use the breast feather technique. On dark feathered birds, the breast feathers of hens have a light bottom edge. In your second pic, the hen appears to have light strips on the bottom edge of her breast feathers. Males will not have that light edging but will have the bottom edge of the breast feathers the same color as the rest of the feather. It appears that your first pic of your claimed tom also has light edging to its breast feathers indicating that it should also be a hen. The first pic appears to have the mohawk also associated with being a hen.

Your other pictures aren't of the type necessary to tell if any of them are hens or toms.

Good luck figuring it all out.

when you say bottom edging of "breast feathers" lighter color, do you mean the tip of each breast feather ? Or do you mean the middle of the breast? Sorry, just need a little clarification.
