Previous | Incubator Coops Index | Next Here is my DIY Incubator: Hope you all like it and decide to make your own ;)
I call it Sheila... It took me several months to make this incubator. This is what it looked like in the early stages of it's creation:
After about 3 weeks this is what it looked like: (please note there are several other possible incubators in this photo)
Now after about 3 more weeks it was at this stage:
After many more months the design finally came together - this is what the final design looks like:
and what a few of the eggs look like that are in the bator:
This Bator never suffers a temp loss if the power goes out, as a matter of fact the temp is always right on and never needs adjustment. Also the humidity is always perfect, it has a built in auto turner, uses 0 power so it qualifies as a "green product" and is obviously energy star compliant. Plus the hatch rates are fantastic!!! The 10 eggs "in the bator" are due to hatch on Easter Sunday. The make of this bator is: Australorp The model name is: Sheila (yep it's cause she is an Aussie - I know it's cheesy :) )
4/13/09 UPDATE: This "Bator" works, I have proof! See the below pic
