In July I started building my first Chicken coop. I had the coop done by the end of the month and I found my self picking out chicks from our local feed store. We got 5 hens (hopefully). A Buff Orpington, a Plymouth Rock, a Leghorn, an Easter Egger and a Black Australorp. I set them up on our dinning room table for the time they would need to be coop-ready. Here is a picture of the brooder:

And the fuzz balls eating their first meal in their new home:

It was less then a day before each had a name, so in no particular order they are...

Speckles, the Plymouth Rock.

Bunny, the Easter Egger

Pot Pie, the Buff Orpington

Penguin, the Black Australorp

And Foghorn, the Leghorn

The first few week it was like they grew right in front of our eyes!

And before we knew it they were ready to go outside!

Now they are 2 months old and completely comfortable in their new home, as long as the dog let's them back in!

And here they are going after some meal worms.
