    `4 X `4 Dome Pen

    Material and tools:

    "2 X "4 field fence
    2 `8 treated "2 X "4s
    Hog rings and pliers
    3/4" poultry staples
    Coated deck screws
    Side cutters and a hammer

    2 "2 X "4s cut to "48 / Outside
    2 "2 X "4s cut to "45 / Inside
1 section of field fence cut to `10 / Top
2 sections of field fence cut to `4 / Ends

I cut a access hole in the front and cover it with a larger section of field fence and attaching it with hogs rings which act as a hinge. I secure the access with a bungee cord and a carabiner.

These are great when a bird needs isolation for any number of reasons. Adding smaller wire and shade would make a good day pen for chicks. I bet it wouldn't be hard to anchor down too.

Thanks! Yes, they are easy to build and it probably only took about 20 minutes to assemble. I usually only put one or two birds in a pen that size.

I like this a lot. It looks simple yet functional and fairly easy to build. How long did it take to put it together, once you had all the supplies ready? How many chickens are you putting in it? I always need 'extra" room here! Thanks for posting this and the great pics.
