We are a family of 6 trying to live a self sustaining life. My husband and I both grew up in fast paced city lives. When we started our family we decided we didn't want our kids to have that same life style. So we moved to the country, to a town of 500 people surrounded by forest!
We are taking baby steps every year toward not relying so much on the grocery store. We've been working on our gardening skills for the last few years and last year decided to step it up a notch! So we invested in chickens! I love them and am learning about chicken math this year! We hatched 3 eggs this year and unfortunately one chick had a run in with the heat lamp and lost. So naturally I had to replace that one with 2 more!
I am also learning about, and getting things ready to bring home some Japanese Quail!
