So our chicken house was built with the intent on 4-6 birds living in it. My children got free "roosters" for 4-H My younger son thought he also needed some so we bought 4 hens for him, hoping that after the fair the rooster would be gone. Well somebody made a miske and we ended up with 14 hens. We didn't have a lot of money so we just threw some wood and a window on this old fuel barrel stand we had. It worked out well for the summer as they only spend the night in it and free range during the day. Now our 14 chickens are getting a new home for the winter, we are revamping the current old chicken house on our property.
This is the one I made

this is the old fuel barrel stand

so this is what it looks like now and the fence is just for charm, they have access tho the whole farm.

Everybody really enjoys our chickens especially my children. My daughter calls them her darlings, and carries them around lying on their backs like a baby. Thanks for letting me share.
