Additional Information(C) It shall be unlawful for any person to keep or maintain more than 10 each of ducks, geese, chickens, or other fowl; however, the total number of fowl or animals specified in divisions (A), (B), and (D) of this section may not exceed 15. Fowl shall be kept in enclosures located a minimum of 20 feet from any dwelling, church, or school. Such enclosures shall be maintained in a clean manner. Such ducks, geese, chickens, or fowl shall not be permitted to create a public nuisance, as defined in this chapter or in Cal. Civ. Code § 3480. § 6-1.25 LIVESTOCK AND WILD OR DANGEROUS ANIMALS NOT PERMITTED TO RUN AT LARGE. (A) No person owning or having the custody or control of any horse, bovine animal, sheep, goat, hog, domestic fowl, or any animal of a wild, dangerous, or nondomesticated species shall permit or allow such animal to roam or run at large in the city or cause or permit such animal to be pastured, herded, staked, or tied on any street or alley or other public place, except that horses may be temporarily staked or tied in an appropriate and safe place as the owner or rider enters a store or other public place for a specific purpose. In no event shall the temporary tethering exceed 15 minutes. § 6-1.28 ANIMAL CARE. No owner shall fail to provide his animals with adequate feed and water and proper, clean, and sanitary shelter and protection from the weather and veterinary care when needed to prevent suffering. The humane care and treatment of all animals shall be maintained at all times. No person shall sell, offer for sale, barter, give away, or publicly display baby chicks, ducklings, or other fowl as pets or novelties, whether or not dyed, colored, or otherwise artificially treated, or sell, offer for sale, barter, give away, or display in a public place any dog, cat, or other animal. This section shall not be construed to prohibit the sale or display of natural chicks or ducklings in proper brooder facilities by hatcheries or stores engaged in the business of selling them to be raised for domestic consumption or commercial purposes, nor shall this section be construed to prohibit the sale or display in humane display facilities of any dog, cat, or other animal by pet stores engaged in the business of selling them, nor shall this section be construed to prohibit the sale or gift of a pet by its master, the family, or individual owning the same as a family pet nor prohibit the gift or sale of an offspring of such a family pet by the owner or master of the parent animal from the owner\'s private property. The ow ner of every animal shall be responsible for the immediate removal of any excreta deposited by his animal on public walks, parks, recreation areas, roadways, streets, school grounds, or private property.
